Carried  3.0MinutesNo minutes available from last meeting. Tabled until next meeting. 4.0 Treasurers Report: The treasurer was presented. Morgan asked for a motion to proceed to pay outstanding bills. Approved by consensus Motion to accept the Treasurers report. Jerry/Mark Carried.  5.0 Committee Reports 5.1 Publicity and Community Awareness Newest Newsletter was given out for distribution.  5.2 Heritage Site Mike Reported: -Art work for the Heritage Site Gates is ready. -Mike, Morgan, and Maxine will prepare Alberta Lotteries Financial Statement Scow Project -The first lot of lumber has been cut and picked up. Rod has built some of the boat ribs. 5.3Trans Canada Trail No rep. Present. Opening at the Winterfest was very successful. Mike suggested that the Heritage Society get more involved in the Winterfest next year. The Trans Canada Trail Committee is looking for help to develop the Colinton to Athabasca Trail and the Athabasca to Sawdy Trail.     6.0 Old Business Web Page- Mike will speak with Mike Sesteric about the ICAPP server hosting the AHS web page. Mike moved that we approve the purchase of the DNS license for the web page for an amount of up to $100.00 Athabasca Landing Foundation Drawings of the prospective site and building will be displayed at an open house at 5:00pm at Athabasca University Governing Council Chambers , Monday March 18/02. The design was presented to the NADC for their input and review. An NADC employee has made suggestions on how to prepare for the application for Centennial Funding.   7.0New Business 7.1Mike -Tourism: The artwork for Mikes store @1950 sign is ready Mike has contacted Alberta Infa-structure and Facilities about putting a mural on the Provincial Building. Mike spoke with the SAAN store manager about putting a mural on the North wall of the store. CIBC has been approached about putting a mural on the bank. Suggestion was made by Morgan Sr. to put the Robert W. Service heritage sign on the bank. Mike has met with 31 other tourism committees and they are establishing a Heritage Trail . Mike requested that someone from the AHS volunteer for the Mainstreet Alberta Program. 7.2 River Rats Festival This year will be a 3 day event. There will be a family competition day in the theme of Old Time Traditional Fair Competitions(Pie Eating contests etc). The AHS has been asked to look after one competition of their choice. Discussion and was agreed that AHS would do the Trackers Pull as the competition. 7.3 Communities in Bloom Ida Edwards presented information and interesting information with regard to the Communities in Bloom Program. Heritage and its preservation are a large component of the Program. The small older building behind the Outreach School is the old West Athabasca School House and the committee is asking for assistance to restore it. The next judging for C in Bloom is July 31/02 Rod Kripp of Viking will be a guest speaker at a Communities in Bloom promotional presentation. The AHS was requested to do a Scrapbook Page of its various projects(past,present,and future)-required by the C in Bloom Comm. By July5/02. 7.4 Crooked Creek Conservancy Harvey Scott spoke on the Crooked Creek Conservancy Association and the coming workshop on Saturday March 16/02 regarding Natural Conservation Areas. He also spoke on the Tawatinaw Creek to Athabasca River Bridge area that this Association is developing into a natural reserve. Harvey also discussed the probability of organic control measures for the tansey weed problem on the river bank.
